Re: 4k Rear Speakers

Well it was work. I wanted to put them in but the depth was too short so I
increased the depth by pulling the rear deck piece up about 3/4 of an inch and
mounting the speakers on 3/4" wooden dowels. I installed some 2"x2" grey foam
at the base of the window to cover the gap.

I screwed the dowels into the metal plate over the gas tank and then screwed
the speakers into the dowels through the thin particle deck. This gives the
speakers the height they need (you need calculate the dowel length depending
on the speakers) and it gives the speaker the support they need to thump the
way you want them too without making the rear deck vibrate. The install ain't
easy but good sound is worth it.

I am about (within the next month) to pull the deck out to add some struts so
if anyone wants digital pictures please email me at work (carolanjr@cdm.com)
and I will send you all some .TIF images when I pull the deck.
