Re: no maintenance sunroof?
I'm working on a moonroof for my '83 CGT, dunno if it's the same design
or not, but here's an easy solution. I found a guy who cut a piece of
28% tint tempered glass to fit the hole left from the removal of my old
roof. That cost $45. I used the black adhesive (can't remember the
name, but can tell you later) that's used for mounting windshields. The
stuff is bomb-proof and seals very well (and it's a pain to get off your
fingers)... I used it to mount two aluminum brackets I made (to retain
function of the roof) but you could use it to seal the glass to the roof
of the car. It comes in a tube that you stick into a caulk gun to use.
I'm not worried about not matching the curve of the roof. My piece of
glass fits so that it is about 3/16" too low in the middle, and even w/
the roof on the outer edges. But from more than 10' away, it looks
perfect. I wouldn't think the 4k would be much different.
HTH,
Alan
