 The black stuff is called Urethane, and yes it is a pain to get off your
skin, clothes, etc. My brother-in-law works at a glass shop  and used to
install windshields, I've used that stuff for various other projects, but
I always am very careful with it, as it is such a pain to get off. You
should be able to find tubes of it at a well stocked hardware store,
otherwise, try a local glass shop.
