Put the key in and turn clockwise to the 2 o'clock position and push in.
Just tried mine and couldn't get a horizontal position.

Thanks Phil, I didn't know that. Sure explains my wifes rage when she needed
that stuff from the trunk. I didn't have a problem opening it with my key ;<)
