Surely you don't want to just camouflage the leaky water pump and radiator in
order to sell the car to some poor unsuspecting soul, do you?
All magical seals and snake oils belong in those infomercials for suckers on
late night TV. They clog and eventually destroy the cooling sys components
besides being completely useless. The only proper repair is the replacement of
the leaking parts.
The pump on a 5 cyl engine usually leaks trough the pathetically thin 4mm O-ring
seal in its flange.
See my detailed post of several years back on how to CNC machine the groove and
use a larger (7/32") O-ring in order to solve this problem permanently.
Every Audi that I fixed this way since '92 never had a leaky water pump since.
BTW, Audi had eventually issued a TSB where they told in black and white to use
the rebuilt water pumps with the enlarged to 5mm O-rings (they must have been
reading my mind).
