Climate Control Head
Hi Gang:
As you more than likely remember I've got a '91, 90q20v. I took her by the
dealer this morning to have the climate control system looked at. The only
problem it has is that hot air isn't coming out of the center dash vents while
on "bi-level". They have tested the system and reported to me the climate
control "head" the thing with the buttons/LED read out is not sending a signal
to the flap control motor.
As back round info the previous owner was one hell of a smoker/pipe that is,
the car smelt of "rich" pipe tabacco, when I first got it, and when I installed
the CD player, which I placed the controler in the ash tray (a much better use)
I discovered what must have been an entire box of used wood stick matches. So
I've come to think that all of that smoke and fumes went straight up into and
around the climate controler, I know smoke is fine particals of the
burnt/burning matter, could I have the controler "gummed-up"?
I remember someone on the list talking about "cleaning" the contacts? How
and were are these contacts.
Any Insights would be helpful:
