Did you give them any guide-lines or $ limits, or just "fix it"?
The charges sound reasonable, considering it was a hunting expedition. Yes,
they fixed wiring that apparently wasn't the problem. However, they didn't
know that at the time. Customer has electrical problems, they find burnt
wiring......well, heck, what would you do? Of course they're going to fix
it, you'd go postal if they didn't, right? So unless you felt they were
incompetent, or misleading you, i.e. was the work was done in good faith,
seems to me you should pay them. I'm sure our list-member pro mechanics
have horror stories about intermittant electrical troubles......
