I'm not a "certified" mechanic, but I did work as a service advisor in a small
garage(along with doing some minor repairs here and there), and Steve nailed
it right on the head. People come in and say I have this problem, fix it. Even
if you call them after X number of hours of labor they say "fix it". Only when
they get the final bill do they start screaming. Like Steve says, if they work
was done in good faith, and they have a good reputation otherwise, chances are
they aren't even charging you the full time for the work. Pay up, it was their
expertise that solved the problem(s).
