    My response re rebuild kit is short and sweet - DON'T. Even with a good kit,
I don't believe that the average DIY, even with access to some critical tools,
will not be able to repair a turbo successfully.

    A turbo, especially a "high miler", requires work experience not acquired
the first time around - it may look good on video but you're only looking for
trouble. This is a BTDT. :-)

    Your best success is buying a rebuilt from a reputable turbo dealer.
