Would it be best to perhaps send the turbo to a well-equipped
turbo reconditioning shop? They'll have all the proper cleaning and
balancing equipment and I hear you get the turbo back with a lovely
shiny housing. :) I'm sure workshops that rebuild truck turbos (about
the same size as the type-44 MC cylinder head ... kidding ofcourse)
will be able to do this rebuild job on a K26 or K24. As for
pricing, I would not know.
