Well...if one were to keep within model years (in other words a 2.7L NA 911),
and the Vega were the cosworth model (still a 4cyl), and the tires were the
same compounds...I would put my $ on Michael Schumacher in the Vega...

Then again...street cars ain't race cars and there are many compromises to be
considered. Back when I owned a 911S and a 5ktq wagon at the same time, the
5ktq got the nod every time for any serious distance road trip and didn't give
up anything to the 911 in performance at "sane street levels" (read 7 tenths
and below)...in fact the tq was IMO a safer car to drive fast than the 911.

I have no problem per say with the M3, and do drive a close friend's '95 hard
as often as I can get my hands on it. (Which was for sale but he couldn't get
rid of it in the SF Bay Area cuz there are a glut of them available here on
the used market...which makes one go hmm?) For the money of what his '95 is
supposedly worth (but notice no takers) one can have a nice S4 and a good
911SC. Then my taste in things wmb tend towards the older so I am much more
partial to the 2002 factory turbo than anything they build today.
