HELP! 91 90Q 20V Front Brakes
Ok, here's another brake question for all you listers:
I just tried to order new disks and pads for the front of my car. Thought
it would be fairly easy. WHOOPS! I guess not! The Parts Connection tells
me that the car could have 1 or 2 pot calipers. So, since I'm having an
alignment done anyway, I have the tires rotated and look at the front
brakes. They appear to me (and the mechanic) to be single piston, labeled
"Girling 54". TPC tells me that the rotors for the single piston brakes are
more than twice the price of the dual piston ones. They tell me that the
single piston brakes may have been an option??? Now I am really wondering.
SO I go out on the EXCELLENT 20v web site
(http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Speedway/3229/) and find that there is
a page devoted to these weird brakes.
Please someone tell me that I'm nuts and the rotors don't really cost
120.00 each? Wouldn't it be cheaper to just get used dual piston calipers
and the 50.00 rotors? Anyone with ideas????
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
