RE: Tapping from engine
The tapping noise you are hearing is more than likely the vacuum pump. This
can be solved by removing the shaft that drives the piston. I have never
heard of anyone having any problems leaving it removed. If that does not stop
it you have a bad lifter.
As for the 20v head it is not compatable with the 10v motor. To swap the 5kt
motor into your car yourself it will probably cost you at least $2k to do a
good job.

Hi guys,
I'm sorry that all I ever do is ask you guys questions, but you are the
only ones I can go to.(Your'e still safe... I haven't been able to
answer anyone elses questions yet :) My car sometimes makes a tapping
noise when I drive it. The noise will occur when I first start the car,
and remain until the engine has warmed up (about halfway to school).
Other times, the tapping noise will suddenly appear as I accelerate from
a stoplight. What is it? I thought it might be a valve(s) or cylinder
head. If it is, can I bolt the 20v head onto my engine? I own an 85
CGT. Could I swap a used TQ5K engine for about the same price?
Thank you for your comments.
