Remove the vacuum pump, open the top, clean out the excess oil, taking care
to put the parts back the way they were.  Reassemble, lube the pump drive
shaft, and reinstall.  If the sound is from the pump, it should go away for
the better part of a year, at least, depending on how fast oil works its way
back there.
