re:Central trunk lock doesn't work

My trunk lock failed the same way. The problem was in the lock itself; in the
mechanism connected to the vacuum motor (actuator). It was frozen and the
actuator couldn't move. I diagnosed it by removing the bolts that hold the
lock in place and removing the lock mechanism. Takes some twisting movement
to disengage the lock from the linkage connected to the motor. Then have
somebody work the locks while you watch the vacuum actuator. If it works, the
lock assy probably needs cleaning and lubrication. I am not talking about the
tumbler, but the mechanism that locks/unlocks the pushbutton when moved by the
vacuum motor. I worked some WD40 into the system until it worked properly,
then applied some light grease. Still working. It took a bit of
investigation to see what was not moving properly. Then do the twist again to
reinstall. Good luck!
