Re: FS: 1985 UrQ? - $8500

First, that '85 was posted on the list over a week ago.
I called about it on Thursday (10/22), I think. The guy
was out of town, but when he called me back on Sunday,
he told me I was second on his list. Unfortunately, the
guy in front of me had already promised to send a deposit
check to hold the car until he could drive up from NC to
look at it on Friday (10/30).

At that point, I gave up on it. If it was actually in the
condition this guy said it was, then the guy from NC would
certainly buy it. If the NC guy passed on it, then it
probably had some serious problems (why else would he
turn down a car after driving that far?).

My guess is that during the week before the NC guy drove
up, the seller kept getting phone calls about it, and at
least one of the callers offered him more than the asking
price. When Mr. NC got there, the seller told him about
the higher offers, so the negotiation pushed the price up.

Well, that's just speculation, but I hope that's how it
went. Otherwise, he skipped over me for someone with a
high offer. (#$*&#$#@)

So, anyone on the list from NC with a fresh ride in their
driveway?

Too late.
