It's really sad.  Most people don't see the big picture when 
it comes to things like photo radar and unmarked vans or cars.

Those of us who travel to "exotic" lands can see 
what these things lead to in other countries.  It's 
a logical progression, and unless people get up and 
make some noise (as they did here, to politians dismay 
and surprise, in the Bay State-result, no unmarked cars 
on the Pike anymore, and no illegal tickets by mail) about 
these Orwellian "safety" measures, we could soon have 
police "safety check" sites along the highway, where 
anyone can be stopped and searched at the will of the 
State.  We'll be coming home dreading the mail as it 
may contain the latest infraction we are accused of.  
Ticket quotas are VERY easy to make when all you have 
to do is submit a ticket with a valid plate on it at 
the end of your shift. 

This is the status quo of many a "democracy" and it looks 
like we'll be getting there sooner than later.
