Agreed, but my understanding from reading the intro manuals is that this
temp sensor goes to the Ignition control vs the ECU and changes timing
advance based on temp.

I have no temp sensor in the space provided at the front of the engine,
just the temp sensor & thermal time sensors on the back of the block.
I'd be interested in seeing your wiring as it should be the same as
mine, or at least as similar as 2 Audis can be!
