That's the bit where I say: "An assistant is required".

I have a spring-loaded flex joint - Roger Galvin always curses that
he's found this problem _again_ and tapes up a standard UJ in gaffer
tape.  Just enough flex for the job.  A 72-tooth rachet helps.
