buy one for $32 (list is $135) with th quattro list discount at the parts
connection (800) 517-6060. tell rod i sent you.
i haven't done a 4kq, but i'm sure it is similar to the 5kq...
the slave cyl is held in by a rolled spring pin and pretensioned with a
spring clip that inserts into the pin.
slide the clip out toward the drivers side.
drive out the pin - you may be able to get access through the tie rod
curtain in the left front wheel well.
i used a long extension and an allen socket as a drift punch.
slide the slave cyl out toward the rear and hope it's not frozen in place.
(you should put antisieze on the cyl body before installing to prevent this.)
you can try using clutch action to drive it out, if the hydraulics work at
all.
the hydraulic hose should have connections that rotate freely at both ends,
so you should be able to remove the hose if that is in your way.
i hope you have small hands.
bleeding the damn thing will be your next major challenge.
i rigged up something to gravity bleed the clutch by supplying a feed tube
to the slave cylinder bleed screw.
i disconnected the supply tube from the brake fluid reservoir until clean,
bubble-free fluid is draining.
