my 86 does the following:
- stays functional until driver's door is opened then closed.
- one tap, one touch down.
- no one touch up feature.
- two taps stops the window whether going up or down (you should try this.)

if this is true, there should be a connector on the relay that is energized
when the engine is running, which you should be able to simulate on the bench.
