I wondered why that big "F" was imprinted on all my underwear.

Anyway, if what I'm looking at is correct, the baffle of which 
you speak is called a "restrictor" and is either P/N 034 103 623 
or 084 103 623. (The second digit is smudged on my fiche copy. I 
suspect 0_3_4 is correct because the oil pan starts with the same 
three digits.) It is mounted between two identical oil pan 
gaskets, and does indeed appear to be curved with little slots 
(for crankshaft clearance?).
