I have this piece, which on the S2 fiche is called 034 103 623A. Imagine a
flat piece of sheet metal, cut out to conform to the outer pattern of the
pan.
Then conform the center section so that it just clears the outline of the
crank as it rotates by.
Next, imagine a slot cut 3-4 inches wide along the left side of the piece.
As Eric says, it sandwiches between two pan gaskets. (Important install
tip: you've just "lowered" the pan by the thickness of one gasket and the
sheet metal tray, relative to the bolts which thread horizontally into the
trans. You'll have to elongate these holes with a rat-tale file to adapt)
As I understand it, haven't seen pix, Alex Neckas and Jeff Donnely have
modified this by adding inverted tent shaped pieces from the center cas
posts of the pan up toward each side. This is to prevent oil from creeping
up the side of the pan, then the block, during extended hard cornering.
