Re: Driver's Door Switch

I spent about 30-40 minutes (really!) looking through the Bentley the other
night when I read your original message and couldn't find anything about
the stuff in the jamb. :-( Not in Body-Exterior, not in Body-Interior,
not in Electrical, didn't bother with the Trace Diagrams. Sometimes you
just need to have Dan's quote in the back of your head when you go through
the Bentley, "I paid $100 for this?!?!?!" If I had a bulb in my fiche
reader (on order), I could look up the part number but my 16x loupe isn't
string enough for the fiche. :-(

Now, on to something I do know: You should be able to tug those little
cone-shaped booties off the switch. Don't pull on the bootie or you can
just rip it right off the base part (BTDT). You need to get a small
flat-bladed screwdriver or a cotter pin puller and wiggle it underneath a
corner and pry/pull/coax it off. They have a little lip on the inside of
the rectangular part. Putting them on is easy. You just get a corner
started and ease it over all the way around.

What other stuff in the jamb do you want to know about? There's not much
in there. Front: 2 hinges and the boot for all the power stuff in the
door (windows, mirrors). Rear: Striker and switch. On the front doors
there is a drain for the sunroof that comes down the A-pillar that you can
see.... [[This is on my 90Q but it should be the same as yours...]]
