Central Locking System Pump Revisited and Wanted
On 11-23-98 I said: I have a 1989 Audi 100 which has a problem with the central locking system. It will lock all the doors but will not unlock them. I checked the fuse and it is OK. The pump sucks the locks down but does not blow them up .......
I finally managed to get the pump out from under the back seat and found that battery acid had eaten the plastic end of the pump casing completely through. It produced a very acidic black paste which had saturated the sound insulation next to the battery. The gap in the case was about 1/2 in wide. When I tried to clean the case and underlying circuit board, the case fell apart and the circuit board looked etched. Anyway the pump does not work at all now.
So if you have a central locking pump for a 1989 Audi 100, part no. 311088, let me know the price. It has a snap on electrical connector with room for 7 blade connections. Only 1,2,3,4, 6 are actually used. The pump is very compact ( about 5"x4"x3") and sealed in a plastic case. The older pumps as in my 1989 Audi 4000 or 1984 Audi 5000 would not fit in the space next to the battery in this 1989 100 and probably have different electrical connectors.
