There is a wire coming off the windshield at the lower passenger corner.
This terminates in spade connector which plugs into (at least for an 80Q) a
small amplifier module in the RH-side A-pillar. The rear antenna is the
same way.
As for cost, I had mine done by a windshield place for the cost of my
deductible. "Insurance will pay? With OEM? Cool, here's my $100!"
When I asked how much they are outright, I was told somewhere in the $500+
range.
