Re: snow tire recommendation?

Chris-

I put on the Pirelli Winter 210 Assimetrico's on Friday and can give you the
short 'first weekend test' opinion.
I went with 225/50/16 on stock wheels

I travelled about 450 miles from Boston to VT, and had rain, snow and dry
conditions.

My S4 had new Goodyear Gatorbacks (the selling dealer put them on the car)
before the P210's. I am happy to get those tires off the car.

Snow (about 2-3 inches): Stable, good grip, maybe not as good as the
Blizzaks I had on my 850T. I tested panic stops, and had minimal ABS
action.

Dry: Better than the Gatorbacks!, more solid feeling sidewall, less sway
and drift, quieter than the Blizz. Stable, quiet at 70-80 mph.
Rain: Ditto

Overall, I like the tires. I can say that the p210s are better than the
Gatorbacks. A snow tire beating a radial!
The P210's are quieter than the Blizz, and better in the dry. For a FWD
volvo, maybe the blizz were good, but you dont need that much tire for a
Quatt. I have heard good things about the Nokian.
