v8q troubles

new to the list and the v8q as well and having some teething problems
here:  in the process of bedding in the new brakes [ufo's] which were
starting to pick up a warp [the list suggestion of 80-0stops and
starts],  the engine now appears to be flooding somewhat.  symptoms
are that multifunction shows 5mpg [variable],  when you get off of the
throttle,  it feels as though you just dropped anchor [very abrupt
on-off of the accelleration],  and it will stall occaisionally when
you come to a stop.  it also stinks like it is running rich.  only
other thing to add is that the breather hose under the air cleaner is
shot and on order so it is smoking a little under the hood.  car has
57k on it and was running well until last night.  any suggestions
would be appreciated
