Autoweek had a cover story article years ago on this very subject. The cover
photo was a Ferrari (Testarosa I believe) exiting this very crude looking
carwash. (Horrors for the tifosi who are adement about hand washing ya know.)
Turns out this picture was at the Ferrari factory where *every* car built
passes through this contraption to get cleaned as part of prep for delivery.

I will on occasion get lazy and go through a cloth carwash as well but there
is something about hand-washing that just seems right. I can see how you may
run out of time with your fleet ;-) Also the "typical home hand wash" as done
by my significant other (I hope she never reads this in the archives) leaves
uh...less to be desired so I can see the point of the study. Of course I don't
need to explain to anyone here how to hand-wash a car I'm sure ;-)
