Jim-- I duno about the O2 sensor, due to a dealer screw up, my O2 sensor was
disconnected for over a year, and the car ran pretty good in the default mode.
None of the symptoms you described. I did have an issue with similar symptoms
which ended up to be the Hall sensor in one of the distributors. HTH
