Mitsubishi is already selling it's GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) models
in Europe. These engines offer good hp/displacement ratio while providing
excellent fuel economy. The problem is that to keep NOx emissions at legal
levels they had to use very special catalytic converter containing Iridium,
which is rumored to have very short lifespan.
