Re: '86 4kq - trim removal from bumpers



Matt,

In order for you to remove the stainless steel trim from your rear bumper,
ther entire bumper will have to be removed. 

This is actually a lot easier than it seems. remove the six bolts on the
bumper mounts, and a few screws in the fender, and it just slides off the
back of the car. Once the bumper is removed, the trim can be removed.

I would highly (I mean HIGHLY) recommend that you do not remove the side
trim on your 4k, unless you plan to replace it with with new trim. The trim
will bend and distort when you pull it off. I say this from expierence. If
you want to paint the trim, leave it on the car.
