I just bought an '88 Q90 for $3300.00 US, and it's in similar condition to
the one you describe here. I'm not sure what the differences are between
the 80 and 90 models, but maybe this will be some help.
As for tires, I had to replace all four of mine as well, because the tires
on the car were undersized and worn. Sears listed the correct size as 195
60R 14.
Paint--The entire upper surface of my car is faded and chalky. It may be
possible to rub it with compound and restore some shine, but the clear coat
is gone and the car will need repainted eventually (the sooner the better)
if it's anything at all like mine.
My exhaust is shot, too.
