Coolant hose - heads up

If your winterizing includes coolant and hoses R&R, make sure to check
~4" long, 3/4" diameter coolant hose from thermostat housing to metal
heater hose (89 100, NF eng. auto/FWD).

I spent Saturday winterizing the cars.  While inspecting hoses, I found the
above hose swollen. PITA to R&R - and best done with upper/lower rad hoses
off and 2 temp sensors unplugged to get wires out the way.  Old hose was
brittle and interior wall was disintegrating.  Check that hose before Audi
gods find it and coolant is all over some back road at zero-dark-thirty
this winter.
