Gearboxes: type 016 UW and 3U...V8 conversion?
Hello,
I am very interested in a V8 auto to manual conversion. Several shops in
the Denver area have suggested this is just too complicated. After seeing
Allison 1200 HP aircraft motors in MB sedans, it would seem the trans
conversion would be easier.
There has also been some interest in the Colorado area on supercharging a V8.
Would seem to me the core auto trans might pay for the parts to do the
conversion.
Lots of clutch pedal type kits in hotrod mags where engine/trans
conversions are routine.
Maybe if there is enough interest among V8 owners, a shop could be
'convinced' to put together a kit of parts, etc.
Any thoughts, ideas, directions for help, past articles, ongoing projects,
etc.
Thanks in advance
Bill Witt
