FS: 91 200q TAP ECU, Stiffer WG Spring
Gentlemen (and Lady Dee):
I am selling my TAP ECU in order to run a 'stock' ECU during the break-in
period of my new 3B motor. I paid ~$550 for the TAP mod with the spring. It
performs fine. The modified code produces power in the same amount as the
Intended Acceleration Stage III and Hoppen mods, both of which increase
horsepower by 60 (this has been verified at the track, doorhandle to
doorhandle). Going rate on 'second-hand' computer mods is $250, a fair price,
so first come first serve. It has a 2.5 bar PT (as do the IA and Hoppen mods)
and does not require a stiffer WG spring.
The stiffer spring is not advisable for the 3B, but is useful for the 10V
motors. I paid $50; send me $25 and it's yours.
Both items FOB my place in CA. The ECU would be a swap situation. You send me
your ECU and $250 cashier's check, I send you the modified ECU.
I would keep it, but I am going to break the new motor in with a stock ECU. My
old motor threw a rod, a result of detonation, which was caused by a turbo
with bad oil seals (created carbon deposits, hot spots, preignition). The chip
works fine, I have no qualms with it, but it is not highly advisable to chip a
'new' motor/turbo - I will wait 3k, at least.
