Turbo RIP usually results in a great whoosh of smoke on startup after a
long stand.  If the car's already warm when you arrive to view it ...

There _are_ also people in the world who will rebuild an engine without
changing the valve stem seals.  You need to have someone drive along
behind you to spot the puffs of smoke at gear changes.
