Brake-interlock

Well, on my 1989 100 the brake-interlock has neverworked, nor has the
"indicator" lights down by the shift lever. Anyone has an "easy" way to
remove the molding/cover over the transmission tunnel? Don't care for the
brake-interlock but the light would be nice to have.
