Ticket Advice Needed - Long

Not such a good start to my New Year.

Driving home on 66W in No. Va (Fairfax Co.) on Saturday, got pulled
over for reckless driving.  Doing 82 in 55 zone.  Was'nt paying
attention, and I feel like such an idiot.  Not for getting caught,
but not paying attention to my speed.  Well, I was probably due
for a ticket anyway.

When the officer stopped me, I was polite, gave him my license.
He asked me where I was going and I told him "home".  He replied,
"you sure you're not going to work?".  I said "no, I'm just going
home", to which he said "I'd hate to catch you going to work,
how fast would you go then?".  Did'nt need that.  I know I was
wrong, and should have paid more attention.  The road was clear
and I was in the left middle lane of a four lane hwy.  Cop paced me.

Anyway, my court date is in the first week of February.  I need
advice.  Can I get away with a fine and no points if I agree to
attend some sort of State driving school?  What if I suggested
community service aswell in leiu of points?  I have a clean record
and I'd like to keep it that way.  But I also have a court appearance
in Washington DC (seperate jurisdiction) for going through a red
light in June last year.  That one comes up in March of this year.
Does the court check for violations in other jurisditions?  

Hey, sorry for all this, but like I said, I feel pretty bad and
I just need some advice.  I'm thinking if I can't drive responsibly,
I'll probably trade my Q for a Festiva.  Top speed 65 mph.
