Your dealer is playing fast and loose with his facts. Some 1992 and
1993 V6s did get oil pumps with porous castings. This caused them to
leak _internally_ (i.e. they failed to pump any oil). It did not cause
any oil loss.
Furthermore, if you actually did have one of these pumps with porous
castings, Audi should have paid for the repair. There's a TSB about it.
It sounds to me like he's trying to cover up a botched job...
