I can think of 4 A4s right off that will help you reconsider your
"A4's are slow" theory.

My 'slug' A4 with just a chip upgrade hounded 911 turbos, 996s, 944s,
M3s, M roadsters, and a Vette at the last event. What does that say
about car performance vs driver experience?

Yes, a properly tuned 4000sq will run very well (right Luis?), but
I'll take my 190hp A4 turboq and the 3 year warranty.
