My relays are mounted above the alternator, on a relay bridge I got out
of some old 4k that holds five sockets (I am now up to nine using two
banks...), mounted with two little hardware store brackets to existing
holes in the hood support and radiator support. I used lots of
sislicone dielectric on the relay pins and female connectors. I
soldered most of the wire to female junctions, but some are just vintage
bits I used as is. All I did for weather protection was the bottom of a
coolant jug upside down over the whole mess. It;s been a bit over two
years since I set it up. When working in there I see some light brown
here and there but no vicious corrosion. One of these days I will build
a better cover for it. I have had no failures of any kind with it
yet... That might have been a dumb thing to say, but til now it's true!
