Bill...I personally don't compromise when it comes to brakes. If they are
wrong, you can die along with lots of other people. I don't think there are
very many easy answers here.
I just spent over a $1,500 on the 4kq for new brake lines, rear discs,
calipers, pads, emergency brake cables, master cylinder and a brake
pressure regulator. The job included replacing the rear springs and shocks
and an alignment. I had it done in a shop because I have no place inside to
work in the winter, and lots of the stuff requires being right the first time.
I'm not going to suggest that you do something different, 'cause I don't
believe in compromises when it comes to safety issues like brakes. All I
can say is do as I do. Fix it right.
