If you've lost a significant amount of the special grease in here,
it could be causing a large part of your problem.

I'm tempted to say that you don't need many 'special tools', but I
forget that the entire contents of my toolbox might be regarded as
'special tools' by some.  You need a socket and breaker bar big enough
to deal with the hub nut, and an 8mm triple-square driver bit.  The
rest can be improvised - you can do a good job with the CV boot clips
using a blunt pair of end cutters.  The 'outer CV joint boot kit'
contains everything you need - check that you get a new nut for the
hub and the right sort of Loktite for the thread.

I think the 'passenger' side (it's better to say 'right' and 'left'
on the list - my passenger side is the left) might be a bit complicated
to remove.  What does Bentley say?
