A Good Twin Cities Q-Mechanic

Can anyone in the Twin Cities (Mpls/St. Paul, MN) recommend a good Audi
mechanic?

Funny you should ask Fred, as I was going to share my recent experience
with a Twin Cities quattro mechanic today anyway. I just handed over
about $550 to Anderson Motorsports in Chanhassen, Minnesota, and
actually felt really good about it. How many of you can say you felt
good about paying a mechanic?

Anderson Motorsports is at 7700 Quattro Drive (at the corner of Ruf Road
-- I kid you not). Their phone number is (612) 937-8639. The building
is not really marked, probably because they get enough business by word
of mouth. I had to wait three weeks to get in.

After calling three other shops, I found that this Quattro shop was
actually the cheapest. They are also very, very honest, knowledgeable,
and helped me figure out the best suspension setup for my '87 4kq. They
also helped me find used parts to fit on my car for a very reasonable
price.

While I was there picking up the car, I noticed a early 80/90 with an MC
turbo motor that they had just put in. In the corner of the shop was a
Quattro Turbo Sport. Up on the rack was a racing Ruf-turbo 911. Chris
and Keith, the owners were both wrenching on an S4 turbo charger when I
came in.

Although it is kind of a drive for me down to Chanhassen from St. Paul,
I can't imagine letting anyone else work on my car.

Matthew Brenengen
(no affiliation with the shop, etc..., just a happy customer)
