Audi VIN Breakdowns

Hello all you 'q'ers' (Ya better take that the right way...:))

I've got a request. I'm seeking a reliable guide to US model Audi VIN
breakdowns for vehicles model year 1980 to present.

I realize that several engines were listed within the same VIN character code
across multiple years. However, I'm trying to list which vehicles were
available (by model/year), which engines were available in each model, and
which models were available with the quattro drive configuration.

I know that this information must exist, yet I cannot seem to put it all
together accurately.
