If all the maint. records are there and things were done when they were
supposed to be done (TB @ 60,0000, etc.), shows no signs of abuse, and
gives no evidence of being in a major accident; it sounds good to me. Any
chance you can get an independent Audi wrench to look at it? 

A '92 S4 with about 85,000 miles on it is about to sell for $16,500 here 
in WI.  No, not to me.  I was asleep at the switch--as usual.
Asking was $17,900.  I saw it today at an independent Audi garage.  they
have just given it the once over and except for possibly needing new brake
calipers they gave it an OK.

some of the more technically asture list members will give you more
specific information.  Have you checked the S-cars web site.  Might find
some useful stuff there.
