Yes, there was a '95 A4, Europe only.  As always, Europe got the car a year
before we did.  BUT, there seems to be a change in this habit as the Beetle
came here BEFORE Europe, and the TT is coming only 6 months after the Euro
launch.  But it seems all other major Euro models arrive here 1 year after
introduction....or 10 years in the case of the S4 biturbo.
