I kinda appreciate the way some folks mistreat their Audis. It makes me
sick on one hand, and I get great deals on the same cars on the other hand.
I figure you have to throw $2,000 - $4,000 at most any used Audi (86 - 91, I
don't know about other years) you buy, regardless of purchase price.
Case in point. I paid $400 for the 88 5kcstq. I have put like $3,000 into
it. So I have $3,000 in new parts in the car, instead of giving the $$ to
the previous owner, and then dumping $2,000 into it anyway. I just bought
an 86 5kcstqw under the same circumstances...
All that being said, finding a trashed S4 at a dealer is truely a shame.
They won't deal it down to the price it is worth, and no one should pay top
$$$ for a trashed car. Maybe some lister could negotiate a great deal that
includes the dealer fixing many of the problems with the car. Just make
sure that you get an good independent to find ALL of the problems BEFORE you
cut a deal.
