You may do OK - that just means that they won't give you more
money than they think the car is worth.  You can argue the
value of the car by supplying them with classified ads for
comparable cars, pointing out the condition of yours (if it
was nice) and go from there.

Worst case, you end up with a check for N dollars, go get the
car fixed for N-X dollars, pocket X, have the car reinspected,
and you're all set.  As long as N>X, of course...
